Pathology Educational Programs
The UMMC Pathology Department offers a diverse array of academic programs. Our combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency program is a four-year program with a total of 16 ACGME-accredited positions. Our residents learn from hands-on experience with our interesting case mix, didactic lectures and interdisciplinary programs.
Our department also teaches the medical school pathology course which runs the entire fall and spring semesters of the second year of medical school and includes lectures, small group sessions and an interactive laboratory component.
Our dental school pathology course, which takes place during the fall semester of the second year of dental school, is also taught by our departmental faculty.
We offer both two-week and month-long elective rotations for third- and fourth-year medical students who have a special interest in pathology. Separate electives are available in both anatomic and clinical pathology.
